About:

Dr. Alan Sam is a postdoctoral researcher specializing in the thermodynamics and transport of fluids in planar and cylindrical nanoconfinements. His cutting-edge research employs a multiscale-modelling approach, integrating quantum, atomistic, and continuum scale simulations to gain a comprehensive understanding of polarization effects on the fluid and ion behavior at the nanoscale.

Professional Background:

Before joining MIT, Dr. Sam served as a postdoctoral researcher in a collaborative project funded by UGA France and UACh Valdivia, Chile. His work in this project centered on investigating the acoustic response of fluid adsorption and transport in nanoporous materials, showcasing his versatility and expertise in diverse research areas.

General Interests:

Dr. Sam is not only a dedicated researcher but also a well-rounded individual with diverse interests. Outside the academic sphere, he finds joy in playing soccer and the discipline of karate, exemplifying a harmonious balance between intellectual pursuits and physical activities.
